New Houses for the New Year at Celebration Cottages

New Houses for the New Year at Celebration Cottages

Wow, what a 2018! We had our busiest year here at Celebration Cottages, and the team are buzzing about 2019 and all the exciting celebrations we’ll be booking. We’ve had some new houses join Celebration Cottages in the past few months, so we thought we’d round them up for you.

Horizon House

It’s so new that we only have a few photos of the fabulous Horizon House. Not many large holiday homes can boast their own 5-a-side football pitch on astro turf, but Horizon House can PLUS a private dance party and bar room AND 10-person swim spa.

Just 7 miles from Huddersfield and close to Manchester; this is the ultimate party pad, and perfect for epic hen weekends. This is celebration ready, and can sleep up to 30 friends in 8 bedrooms, but after the partying; why not undertake one of the local nature trails or just chill in the swim spa? What a choice to make!

Wold View Villa

Speaking of relaxing; Wold View Villa is your dream home. Big enough for 14 friends and family, this luxurious house boasts a huge garden with a private hot tub to admire it from. Modern yet homely, why not hire in a caterer for a great meal before sipping the fiz on the decking and watching the stars.

In 20 minutes you can be in the historical city of York with it’s fantastic sights and winding streets ready to welcome you.

Cheshire Barn Retreat

The name says it all. Near Cheshire, and the perfect barn for the perfect weekend party! It’s a tale of 2 sides; relax next to the log burner or in the hot tub, or party in the huge modern kitchen with pool table. Fire up the BBQ and pop the corks as the sun sets.

12 people can stay in 6 bedrooms, so pick your friends wisely as this is luxury at it’s finest.

Why Choose York for Your Hen Party?

Why Choose York for Your Hen Party?

Put simply; York has everything for a great hen party. History, horses, sights and bars; all ready to entertain you and your hens for the whole weekend.

The Shambles

Twisting, curving, maze-like… all perfect descriptions of Shambles. The medieval streets today are filled with shops and other historical sights that date back to the late fourteenth century.

While you are there, why not treat yourselves to lunch at Shambles Kitchen near the heart of the district. Well loved  on TripAdvisor (and by us!) especially their take on the American Reuben made with slow roasted beef brisket pastrami.

York Racecourse

A 30 minute walk (longer if you take in some bars en-route!) or a 10 minute taxi ride from the centre is the racecourse.

With a full calendar of events; the course hosts the annual Ebor festival in August which popular globally within the racing community. It’s not just racing however, with various fairs and musical events taking place at the course.

The York Dungeon

For a grizzly but immersive education on York’s history, head to The York Dungeon. Tour between 10 rooms and hear about the horrific past of the Yorkshire town, including The Vikings and the plague.

After having being suitably scared, why not head to Plonkers Wine Bar just behind the dungeons. The cellar bar packs in the character with a wide selection of drinks and even a Steak Hanging Kebab for sustenance.

Ghost Tours

If the dungeon wasn’t enough scare for you, then York has a great selection of group and private ghost walks around the historical sights in the centre. Over 2,000 years of history whilst getting your 10,000 daily steps in!

York Castle Museum

Check out a recreated Victorian street plus many other lovingly created exhibitions making history accessible for all ages. Current exhibitions include World War 1, toys throughout the ages and the 60s.

We love York. So much character and history to explore for groups of any size. We have several wonderful hen party houses in York that make the perfect base for a week, midweek or weekend in the city.
